Indefinite extrinsic symmetric spaces I
We find a one-to-one correspondence between full extrinsic symmetric spaces in (possibly degenerate) inner product spaces and certain algebraic objects called (weak) extrinsic symmetric triples. Following the approach to pseudo-Riemannian symmetric spaces developed in [KO2] we exhibit examples of indefinite hyper-Kähler symmetric spaces with non-abelian holonomy. Moreover, we classify indecomposable hyper-Kähler symmetric spaces whose metric has signature (4, 4n). Such spaces exist if and only if n ∈ {0, 1, 3}.

In this paper we study generalized symmetric Berwald spaces. We show that if a Berwald space $(M,F)$ admits a parallel $s-$structure then it is locally symmetric. For a complete Berwald space which admits a parallel s-structure we show that if the flag curvature of $(M,F)$ is everywhere nonzero, then $F$ is Riemannian.

In this paper, we show that the calibrated method can also be used to detect indefinite minimal Lagrangian submanifolds in C k . We introduce the notion of indefinite special Lagrangian submanifolds in C k and generalize the well-known work of Harvey-Lawson to the indefinite case.
